NOTICE TO WATER USERS

Change application for Kane Creek Springs Improvement District.

Protest and request for hearing is due on March 27, 2024.

The applications below were filed with the Division of Water Rights in Grand County. These are informal proceedings per Rule 655-6-2. Protests concerning an application must be legibly written or typed, contain the name and mailing address of the protesting party, STATE THE APPLICATION NUMBER PROTESTED, CITE REASONS FOR THE PROTEST, and REQUEST A HEARING, if desired.

Also, A $15 FEE MUST BE INCLUDED FOR EACH APPLICATION PROTESTED. Protests must be filed with the Division of Water Rights on or before Mar. 27, 2024 either electronically using the Division's on-line Protest of Application form, by hand delivery to a Division office, or by mail at PO Box 146300, Salt Lake City, UT 84114-6300.

The chronology of consumptive water use at King's Bottom - 1962 to 2020

1962 - chicken farm / dairy farm.

1992 - Drilling log at zero to 10 feet: river mobilized alluvium.

1992 - Drilling log at 10 to 360 feet: bedrock (Glen Canyon Group).

1992 - Output is 20 - 25 gallons per minute.

2002 - Private campground; bathroom & shower building.

2020 - Water rights transfered to KCPD, LLC in 2020.

2024 - Change Applications were filed in January. Citizens may file a protest application HERE
